Professional Experience
Thad began his post-law school career in New York City at the
medium-sized law firm, London Fischer LLP, where he worked on behalf of
insurance companies to defend insurance claim litigation, including
lawsuits involving defective traffic lights, property damage, and
personal injury, as well as complex insurance and reinsurance issues,
including issues relating to the destruction of the World Trade Center
on September 11, 2001. Thad subsequently joined his parents (Molly and
Toby) at their bankruptcy law practice, Bartholow & Bartholow, and he
has been with the firm, practicing exclusively bankruptcy and consumer
law ever since. Thad regularly appears in court on behalf of his clients
and is not afraid to bring lawsuits against mortgage companies and debt
collectors, among others, to ensure that his clients are treated fairly
and with dignity as they navigate the bankruptcy process.
Volunteer and Community Involvement:
For three years in New York, Thad served as a Volunteer Mediator for
Safe Horizon, mediating small claims cases, civil court cases, and
out-of-court “community” cases, and became a volunteer member of the
Safe Horizon Alternative Dispute Resolution Advisory Committee, working
to develop the Alternative Dispute Resolution programs offered by Safe
Horizon in and around New York City . Thad currently serves as a
volunteer for the American Red Cross, most recently assisting with the
Dallas Convention Center shelter for Hurricane Ike victims.
